At Falmouth, we see design as a tool for positive change. Across our Design, Architecture & Interiors courses, you’ll explore how creative thinking, human-centred design and emerging technologies can tackle real-world challenges - from sustainability and ethical responsibility to social impact.
Guided by the principles of design for good, you’ll gain hands-on experience through live briefs, collaborative projects and construction tasks for real clients. Whether you're designing sustainable spaces, developing architectural concepts or experimenting with cutting-edge digital tools, you'll learn by doing.
With a strong focus on practical skills and professional practice, you’ll graduate with a portfolio that showcases your creativity, technical ability and vision, ready to make your mark in the design industries.
Transforming healthcare through design
From live industry briefs to hands-on collaborations, our students create innovative products that make a difference. Sustainable Product Design graduate Florence Mitchell recently created Olly the Octopus for her third-year project.
Developed in close collaboration with hospital staff, Florence designed a playful, child-focused IV pole moulded from Sterimelt - a polypropylene made from recycled hospital gowns, masks and curtains. Olly is three times stronger than a standard IV drip holder and is accompanied by an app that brings him to life.
This is just one inspiring example of how our design courses empower students to make a real impact.

We encourage and support our students to engage with industry while they study, whether that's through placements, attending talks or entering competitions. And with accredited courses, including our RIBA and ARB accredited Architecture degree or Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) accredited degree, Creative Advertising BA(Hons), you can be sure we're preparing you to thrive in the real world.
