Launchpad Futures
Launchpad Futures built on the success of Falmouth University’s original Launchpad venture-building model, helping established businesses across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to accelerate growth through access to academic expertise, business coaching, specialist facilities and research and innovation support.
Funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the programme connected businesses with the University’s researchers, technicians and students, enabling them to develop new products, services and capabilities while strengthening links between industry and higher education.
The programme exceeded its original targets and secured an extension through to March 2026, leaving a lasting legacy of innovation, skills development and business growth. Alongside supporting established businesses, Launchpad Futures played a key role in strengthening the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping to establish the Cornwall Angel Network to connect ambitious businesses with investment opportunities and supporting the incorporation of four new games companies through the Games Academy Incubator. Through knowledge exchange, investment readiness support and business creation activity, the programme contributed to a stronger, more connected and innovation-led regional economy.
