Launchpad Futures Supports: Flexi-Hex

A sustainable packaging company started in 2018 based in Porthleven, Cornwall working globally to make an impact with new packaging solutions.

Launchpad Futures and Falmouth University have worked closely with Flexi-Hex to support their product development and market research, particularly through collaboration with Senior Technician John Peters and two Sustainable Product Development graduates.

John’s CAD designs and animations helped visualise how new packaging concepts would function, allowing Flexi-Hex to refine specifications for manufacturing and effectively communicate product benefits to potential customers. This was key in testing market interest for a new product - set to launch in 2025 - which received strong feedback and validated its potential early on.

Two Sustainable Product Design graduates also completed short internships with Flexi-Hex, delivering market research on competitors and helping align new products with distributor needs. Their work included supporting a photoshoot, researching packaging solutions, and analysing distributor data to identify product pairings. These insights helped Flexi-Hex enhance their presence on distributor websites and better position their products in the marketplace.
