Why Falmouth?

I applied here because Falmouth University has great facilities and tutors and I was accepted without having an art diploma. Being near the ocean was another aspect that attracted me.

How have you found the course?

It's the first time in a really long time where I like everything I'm studying. The modules are really new and interesting as I was used to a different educational system. I learned a lot during my first year and I also gained more confidence in my photographic skills.

The tutors are great and they always guide you in finding more ways to express your ideas. The University library was a great source of inspiration, which helped me to research different artists and concepts.

Are you involved in any clubs and societies?

I can't say I've been involved in any clubs or societies, but I'm active in my course, and I had a group exhibition with other students. However, there are plenty of clubs and societies that I would like to try next year.

What social activities do you enjoy?

Most of the people I met here are from different cultures such as Pakistan or Nepal, and we usually cook traditional food or we hang out and tell stories about our cultures.  However, we also go out, watch movies or go to the beach just like any other student.

What's the best thing about living in Falmouth?

Falmouth is a quiet, small town where people are nice and friendly. The best thing about living here is being near the ocean and trying new watersports such as surfing or paddle boarding.

What will you miss most about Falmouth when you leave?

I think I will miss not having access to the university facilities and also not having my tutors to consult with regarding my work.

Has the University been supportive during your time here?

The University has been really supportive and it helps you to cope with different issues. For example, the University offers free English lessons, which helped me to improve my English skills.

What are your plans for the future?

I'm not sure about my future yet as I have only recently finished my first year. However, I'm positive that opportunities will arise soon.
