Alacrity (Launchpad pilot) Graduate
Before joining Alacrity I was completing my undergraduate degree in Games Technology at the University of the West of England in Bristol. With graduation fast approaching I had begun looking for jobs in the games industry even though I wanted to start up my own studio. During this I found out about the Alacrity programme and immediately applied. Alacrity provided the opportunity, technical and financial support necessary to pursue the dream of creating my own studio. The attraction of living by the sea in some beautiful countryside may also have been a factor in my decision.
The team I am working with provides an extensive range of expertise. I am one of the two programmers on the team. But I don't just bring my skills in C++ and C#, I also bring a confident personality and strong business mind, all important factors when creating a new business. The creative nature of the office creates a melting pot of ideas and fun, something which drives me to get up in the morning.
In the future the team I am working with will incorporate as a business and will continue making great games. We will be based down here in Falmouth and will be continuing to support both the Alacrity and BA(Hons) Digital Games programmes to build a new digital creative sector here in Cornwall.
