Falmouth’s hospitality, event management and tourism courses have been ranked first in the Guardian University Guide 2026.

The courses topped the subject area league table with a perfect score of 100 out of 100 – building on the success achieved in previous iterations of the guide

The Guardian University Guide examines student feedback on a wide range of areas, from teaching quality to the academic improvement of students on a course.

Falmouth's event management and tourism courses encourage students to pursue innovation across a wide spectrum of sectors. The courses’ industry connections are unique; from the pioneering Eden Project to inclusivity champions A Greener Future and Attitude is Everything, students hone their entrepreneurial skills by tackling live challenges, supported by practicing academic staff.

Paul Russell, Course Leader for Sustainable Tourism Management BA and Sustainable Festival Management BA, commented: “One of the great things about the Guardian subject ranking is that it specifically recognises the ‘added value’ that students experience during their time with us.

“Our suite of tourism and events management courses are designed to support students to develop themselves through the use of live projects, industry briefs, and real-world application of learning, and our number 1 ranking is a wonderful validation of our approach.”

Matthew Kirby, Course Leader for Creative Events Management BA, added: “We’re delighted to be ranked top! Our strong industry connections and focus on real-life projects give students the skills, experience and confidence to succeed in hospitality, events and tourism.”
