Booking Information and Tickets

Eligible students will receive an email inviting them to book onto their graduation ceremony. You must complete the booking process by the deadline given in your invitation. You will not be able to attend your ceremony if you do not meet this deadline.

Registration FAQs

Booking for ceremonies for those who completed their degree in 2020/2021 has now closed. Booking is live for the 2022 cohort and a link to the booking site has been sent to your University email address.

If you expect to graduate in 2022 and have not been contacted by the end of February, please contact the Graduation team.

E: graduation@falmouth.ac.uk

For the 2022 cohort, booking will go live in February, and you must register by 29 May 2022. You will not be able to attend your ceremony if you do not meet this deadline. Do not wait for confirmation that you have successfully completed your studies. If, subsequently, you do not pass your course, your place at graduation will be cancelled.

Attendance at graduation for graduating students is free. However, graduating students must wear academic gowns, which can be hired through the Ede & Ravenscroft website. Gowns should be ordered no later than 21 days before their ceremony. Ede & Ravenscroft reserve the right to decline late orders. Guest tickets are charged at £15 each and are initially limited to two per student.

If you don’t attend your Graduation ceremony, Student Programmes & Achievement (SPA) will post your Degree Certificate to you by the end of September 2022. This should have already been received by the class of 2021 and class of 2020.

Please ensure that you have updated your student record with your full legal name and your correspondence address. If you would like to report a change to your legal name, please email: student.records@falmouth.ac.uk

If you’re not sure whether you can or want to attend your graduation ceremony, we recommend that you register yourself and your guests before the deadline of 29 May 2022. You can then cancel later by emailing graduation@falmouth.ac.uk. If you don’t book a place before this deadline, you will not be allowed to attend.

Tickets

To attend your graduation ceremony, you must book your place before 29 May. Book your place and arrange your gown hire here.

Guest tickets

You can request up to two tickets for guests, which will cost £15 per guest. You can purchase guest tickets at the same time you book onto your graduation ceremony, via the Ede & Ravenscroft website. We cannot accept requests via email and guests without a ticket will not be allowed entry to the ceremony.

Children are welcome to attend, although those that wish to can make use of the live streaming venues if they feel their children may become restless during the ceremony. Children under the age of two may be seated on guests' laps and do not require a ticket.

Children over the age of two attending the ceremony must have a guest ticket.

Extra guest tickets

Please note that only students who have registered/confirmed attendance at graduation will be notified by email when additional guest tickets will be made available.

We regret that we are unable to provide refunds for additional guest tickets. We strongly advise against making expensive travel arrangements for guests on the expectation of extra tickets.

Tickets FAQs

Extra guest tickets can only be purchased through Ede & Ravenscroft:

  • Wait until your ticket sale opens, then log into your Ede & Ravenscroft account.
  • Enter your university username and password when prompted.
  • Click on the 'My Ceremony' option at the top of the page and it will take you to the online graduation registration page.
  • At the bottom of the page click on 'Extra Guest Ticket' and it will take you to the task.
  • Please ensure that you have a valid debit or credit card as these are the only acceptable payment methods.
  • You will receive a confirmation email when you complete the task.

We regret that we are unable to provide refunds for additional guest tickets. We strongly advise against making expensive travel arrangements for guests on the expectation of extra tickets.

Standby tickets may become available on the day. If you would like to apply for a standby ticket, please ask at registration on the day when you register for your ceremony.

In the event of not having a seat in the ceremony you will still be able to watch the ceremony via our live streaming on campus. Event staff will be able to direct you to the venue.

To avoid disappointment, please note that having a Standby ticket does not guarantee that you have a seat in the hall.

There are live streaming areas on campus where the ceremonies will be broadcast live for guests without tickets. This area is open to anyone wishing to watch the proceedings. We recommend early entry to guarantee a seat.

Hiring your gown

Gowns, hoods and hats must be ordered online via the Ede & Ravenscroft website

Ceremony FAQs

Registration opens two hours before each ceremony. Please leave enough time to arrive, register, collect your guest tickets and pick up your gown. We recommend you arrive no later than one hour before your ceremony. Late arrivals will not be admitted to the hall.

Ceremonies are approximately one hour long. Graduating students and guests are asked to go to the Hall 45 minutes before the start of their ceremony for seating and briefing. Ceremony doors will close 15 minutes before each ceremony start time, after which time admission will not be allowed and tickets no longer valid.

Graduation ceremonies are formal occasions, and you must wear an academic gown hired from our gown suppliers to have your degree awarded during the ceremony. Academic gowns and hoods are ordered from Ede & Ravenscroft and it is your responsibility to ensure that you have done this no later than 21 days before your ceremony, either through the Ede & Ravenscroft website or by telephoning 01233 861854.

For comfort and practicality, it is recommended that you wear a top or shirt that buttons up at the neck, as this makes it easier to attach the hood over your gown. You may find it useful to bring safety pins to hold your hood in place. Hats are to be worn throughout the ceremony and you may find it useful to bring some hair grips to assist in holding your hat in place.

The ceremonies are formal occasions, and we recommend that graduands should dress smartly. We welcome national dress for international students. Jeans, t-shirts, and other casual attire are not considered appropriate for graduation ceremonies.

When booking your gown please have the following details ready:

Please note that your graduation certificate will contain your legal name unless it has been changed with the Student Programmes and Achievement team.

Accessibility and special requirements

You will be asked about this as part of your booking and we will allocate a suitable space for you in the halls with your fellow graduands. We may contact you ahead of the day to discuss in more detail. The entrance and exit to the stage is via a ramp, so is accessible for everyone.

Once you have registered please email the Graduation team at graduation@falmouth.ac.uk if you have any special requirements that you would like to discuss.
