Booking Information and Tickets

On this page you can find all the key information around registering for your graduation, as well as purchasing guest tickets and hiring your robes.

Registration for Graduation 2023 opens in mid-February.

All eligible students will receive an email from the University inviting them to register via our booking site. You must complete the registration process by 29 May 2023. You will not be able to attend your ceremony if you do not meet this deadline.

Do not wait for confirmation that you have successfully completed your studies. If, subsequently, you do not pass your course, your place at Graduation will be cancelled. You will then need to seek a refund for your robe hire and guest tickets.

Registration

Registration for July Graduation 2023 opens in mid-February. A link to the booking site, Ede & Ravenscroft, will be provided in your official email invitation. You must register before 29 May 2023.

If you believe you are eligible to graduate in July 2023, but do not appear to receive the official invitation to register by the end of February, please contact the graduation team:

E: graduation@falmouth.ac.uk

Do not wait for confirmation that you have successfully completed your studies before registering for graduation.

Please note that if you do not complete your required academic work in Study Block 2, you will not have time to rectify that position in order to attend graduation this year. Your place will be deferred until 2024 and you will need to seek a refund for any guest tickets and robe hire. Your course team will in touch to help you understand your position and support you through your next steps if this applies to you.

Your attendance at your own graduation ceremony is free. However, graduands must wear academic gowns, which you’ll need to hire. Details about gown hire can be found below, as well as included in your initial invitation. Guest tickets are available for a small fee and are initially limited to two per student.

If you are unable to attend the time and date of your allocated graduation ceremony, you will not be able to transfer to a different ceremony and you will graduate in absentia. If graduating in absentia, Student Programmes & Achievement will post your Degree Certificate to you. Please ensure that you have updated your student record on MyFalmouth with your full legal name and correct correspondence address. If you need confirmation of your qualification before August 2023, please contact spa@falmouth.ac.uk

If you’re not sure whether you can or want to attend your graduation ceremony, we recommend that you register regardless. You can then cancel later by emailing graduation@falmouth.ac.uk. If you don’t book a place before the deadline, you will not be allowed to attend.

Guest Information

You can request up to two tickets for guests wishing to be seated in the Ceremony Hall during your ceremony. Guest tickets cost £15, and you can purchase these via the booking site during the registration process. We cannot accept requests via email and guests without a ticket will not be allowed entry to the Ceremony Hall.

Children are welcome to attend proceedings in the Ceremony Hall. Children under the age of two may be seated on guests' laps and do not require a ticket. Children over the age of two attending the ceremony must have a guest ticket.

If you feel like your child may become restless during the ceremony, guests are welcome to make use of the live streaming venues on campus for free instead.

You must purchase your guest tickets by the registration deadline, which is 29 May 2023.

Extra guest tickets may become available for additional family or friends wishing to be seated in the Ceremony Hall. Students who have registered and confirmed their attendance at graduation will be notified by email when extra guest tickets become available. This is usually in June once registration closes.

There is no guarantee that you will be able to secure extra guest tickets, therefore we strongly advise against making expensive travel arrangements for guests on the expectation of extra tickets.

We regret that we are unable to provide refunds for extra guest tickets.

Standby tickets may also become available on the day of your graduation ceremony. If you would like to apply for a standby ticket, please ask at the registration point when you arrive on campus on the day of your ceremony. To avoid disappointment, please note that applying for a standby ticket does not guarantee a seat in the hall.

Guests without tickets are still welcome on campus and can watch the ceremonies for free in live streaming venues on campus. These areas are open to anyone wishing to watch the proceedings. We recommend early entry to guarantee a seat.

All guests will be able to attend the reception in the Italian Gardens after the ceremony has taken place.

Hiring your gown

Graduation ceremonies are formal occasions, so you must wear an academic robe hired from our official suppliers, Ede & Ravenscroft. You will be prompted to order your robes through the booking site when you register to attend graduation. You must order your robes by 24 June 2023.

Please note:

  • We welcome national dress for international students, underneath your cap and gown.
  • Jeans, t-shirts, and other casual attire are not considered appropriate for graduation ceremonies.
  • Please bring safety pins and hair grips with you to help keep your hood and hat in place.

When booking your robes please have the following details ready:

  • Height
  • Hat size (circumference of your head taken just above your ears)
  • Chest/Waist measurements
  • Qualification
  • Date and time of your ceremony
