Why study a film, television or photography master's degree?

Our postgraduate students choose to study for lots of reasons

Our industry-focused film and television master's courses give you the opportunity to develop your professional skillset and hone your unique voice as a director, producer, scriptwriter or sound editor. You'll be taught by tutors who are active in the industry, while our masterclasses and guest speaker series will introduce you to a network of experienced professionals from companies like Channel 4, Sky, Gorton Studio, and Photomonitor.

Benefits of studying on-campus

There are many benefits to studying on-campus. Falmouth is a beautiful area to study and live, and as an on-campus student you'll have access to our multi-million-pound professional facilities, which includes a 129-seat cinema, four large production studios, post-production and editing suites, dark rooms, motion capture studios, and workshops with rapid prototyping and 3D printing.

You'll also have access to our Film Stores which have a wide selection of industry-standard film equipment available to take out on loan and have access to our technicians who are an incredible resource.

Our on-campus course begins in September and is a one year full-time course.

Benefits of studying online 

Studying online is great option if you need flexability, the ability to study from your own location and around your work or life commitments. Our courses are designed specifically for online study, and are asynchronous, meaning you can study them in your own time. You'll have access to engaging webinars, unrivalled guest lecturers, and the opportunity to attend in-person events throughout your time studying. 

You'll be supported to work on projects by experts in online collaborative filmmaking, joining an international community of fellow creatives bringing different cultures and experiences to the course. 

Our online course has three intakes a year starting in September, January and May. It is a two year part-time course .
