This September's cohort of MA Fine Art (Online) graduates have just completed their Final Major Projects, which we're delighted to share via their showcase Confluence. Working across a diverse range of mediums, Confluence brings together the work of 19 artists from across the globe.
Meet the artists and their projects
Frances Berriman
Based in San Francisco, USA.
'On What We Dwell' was presented Little Raven Gallery – a series of oil paintings depict the everyday images we snap, scroll past and forget. Three of the works were painted on smartphone screens and were mobile, installed on the streets of San Francisco.
Ian Bolton
Based in Northumberland, UK.
Presented at RePUBlic Gallery in Blyth, ’State of the Nation’ culminated in an outdoor exhibition representing concentrated living in England, where shadows cast house to house across the post-industrial built environment in South East Northumberland.
Jackie Coyle
Based in Shropshire, UK.
’Stone Stories’ was an exhibition of work created in response to the Carboniferous Limestone of Llanymynech Hill, and an invitation to join the artist in participatory events.
Greshna Dibble
Based in Somerset, UK.
‘Beyond the seed’ is an involving series of exhibitions, across multiple venues in Devon and Somerset, exploring the human plant relationship.
Kate Gathercole
Based in Hereford, UK.
Part group participation and part artistic collaboration with the River Lugg and Upper Lugg Meadow, ‘POROUS' developed through a series of improvised, imagined and informed ‘dialogues’, extending away from the actual into the imaginary.
Darrelyn Gunzburg
Based in North Devon, UK.
'Market Value: What Sustains Us’ presented large-scale portraits of market traders and botanical art at South Molton Panier Market. The project is an exploration of the value that the market offers to the local community through social engagement, care, and emotional sustainability.
Elizabeth Handelsbury
Based in Oslo, Norway.
'Dialogues with a Haunted Landscape' is a multidisciplinary art project based on a personal archive of photographs and videos collected over three years of frequent walks in the Østmarka forest in Oslo, Norway.
Georgie Hare
Based in Sydney, Australia.
'My Mother is a Showgirl’, presented at Woodburn Creative Studios, explored the lives of professional dancers and a family of showgirls. Informed by intergenerational experience of an industry where the performance of beauty and sexuality has financial currency, this project involved collaboration with Dawn Morrish and Karim Hayek.

Based in Devon, UK.
‘BoatsVBots!’ is an art game presented both online and at an immersive experience on a canal boat, moored in Limehouse Basin, East London.
Sam Jukes

What happens when we stop and listen to a landscape? 'Feral Systems: Entangled Wildness’, presented at Eype Centre for the Arts, was an immersive installation of sound, sculpture and film, inviting encounters with the wilds of West Dorset through listening, attention and reflection.
Ana Marta Krishchuns
Based in the UK.
'Remembering what we carry: wearable sculptures of memory, comfort and weight’ is an online project exploring memory, identity and the emotional impact of contemporary beauty standards through wearable sculpture, reclaimed materials, photography and poetry.
John McShea
Based in Devon, UK.
‘Holding Space’ is a sculpture trail set within the South Devon landscape, featuring simple circular forms made with local materials and inherited craft traditions. The project explores the relationship between craftsmanship, place and the thresholds we face.
Kylie Merrick
Based in Cornwall, UK.
‘The Hermit’ is an exploration of esoteric art practices. A series of ‘spirit drawings’ made with automatic practices such as decalcomania, hag stone gazing and scrying manifest as drawings, peculiar textile sculptures, paintings, poems, prints and rituals.
Lucy O’Donnell
Based in Birmingham, UK.
'The Quiet Work of Light' brought together painting, moving image and an artist’s book, culminating in a public exhibition at The Bakehouse, Sutton Coldfield, that explored how light, reflection and everyday surfaces can encourage slower, more attentive ways of seeing.
Jackie Swann
Based in Essex, UK.
'A Tin Can Rhino for All to Meet’ was presented at Colchester Zoo where a sculptural installation was accompanied by two films. The project explored materiality, multispecies ethics, and the role of contemporary art in ecological witnessing.
Steph Turley
Based in Ashton Keynes, UK.
'Neural Echoes: Everything We Love We Lose’ was an accessible exhibition of sculptural work inviting the community to consider memory, grief and loss in a space of collective healing.
Megan Waudby
Based in Manchester, UK.
'Stitched Together’ was a socially engaged project at Urmston Library in Manchester. A women’s knitting circle joined the artist in a personal project to explore grief, memory and connection through knitting, in community.
Benedict Welch
Based in Stroud, UK.
In 'Sites of Work; Traces of Industry in Stroud and Painting’, a series of paintings was installed in the Chapels of Rest at Stroud Cemetery addressing industrial sites around Stroud and painterly problem solving.
Heather Wheeler
Based in Bangkok, Thailand.
‘Flux' is a solo exhibition in a historic shophouse in Bangkok, using expanded painting, cyanotype and installation from repeated moped journeys to explore embodied movement, memory, belonging and a city in constant change.
