Students have access to three large multipurpose production studios, alongside a specialist green screen studio with an infinity cove, 360 degree subject lighting rig, Xsens motion capture kit and VR, AR and MR equipment.
Production Studio 1 is a 154m² multipurpose studio equipped with three Sony HXC-FB80 studio cameras, a chromatte grey screen and a full lighting rig. It also includes an integral live gallery with a four-input Tricaster Ultra HD production system, supporting multi-camera and live production workflows. Production Studio 2 acts as a multipurpose studio and dedicated support area for Studio 1. Production Studio 3 is a multipurpose studio with a full lighting rig and daylight shooting capability, offering flexibility for a wide range of film and television projects.

Post-production suites
Our post-production facilities support the full editing, grading and audio finishing process to industry standards. Visual editing facilities include nine Mac Pro edit suites running Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and DaVinci Resolve, alongside two specialist grading suites with 4K preview screens.
Students also work in two 28-seat post-production hubs designed for software training, each fitted with dual-screen Apple iMacs. Audio post-production facilities include a Foley and ADR suite, three additional audio suites with Pro Tools Ultimate and a 25-seat dubbing theatre with an Avid S6 mixing desk.
All post-production suites are networked via the Avid NEXIS shared storage system, allowing smooth collaboration across editing, grading and sound.
Cinema and library
Our 129-seat cinema is a professional screening space equipped with Christie M Series 2.5k projection, as used in Vue cinemas, alongside 7.2 surround sound and Blu-ray playback. The cinema is used for student screenings, public events and the School of Film & Television guest lecture series, giving students regular opportunities to watch and discuss work in a theatrical setting.
The film and television library supports study and research with a collection of more than 8,600 DVDs and Blu-rays, covering film, television and related subjects. This physical collection is complemented by online streaming options, giving students flexible access to a wide range of screen content for coursework, analysis and independent viewing.
Equipment stores and technical support
The technical stores in the School of Film & Television provide daily support for students and staff, with experienced technicians offering advice, training and guidance throughout opening hours. The team manages all equipment bookings, preparation and on site repairs, supporting students at every stage of their projects.
The stores hold a broad range of industry standard equipment, from analogue film cameras and digital cinema systems to lighting, grip and sound kit. All equipment is checked and tested after each hire, and students are encouraged to work to industry style workflows using dedicated test bays before taking kit on location.
Available equipment includes Super 8mm and 16mm film cameras, professional digital cinema cameras from Canon, Sony, RED and ARRI, cine lenses from Zeiss, Canon and Sigma, wireless video systems, monitors and follow focus tools. The stores also provide a wide selection of lighting, grip and sound equipment to support film, television and moving image production.
