Gemma Wright
Lecturer in Voice
In addition to her teaching at Falmouth University, Gemma provides professional coaching for actors working in film and television, with recent clients appearing in productions for Netflix, BBC, and Amazon Prime.
Gemma has extensive experience as a voice coach for theatre, contributing to major productions including A Child of Science at the Bristol Old Vic and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Henry VI – The Rebellion at Stratford. Her theatre work also encompasses voice and accent coaching for companies such as Miracle Theatre, Marvellous Machine Company, The Wheel, and Boom Theatre. Gemma founded and runs the Voice and Accent Hub at the Hall for Cornwall, where she additionally supports a range of productions. Beyond the arts, she applies her expertise to professional communication, working with organisations and business leaders, including Seasalt, to develop voice and presentation skills.
Gemma holds a Master’s degree in Professional Voice Practice (Distinction) from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She has also taught at leading UK drama schools, including the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Mountview, and the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. She joined Falmouth University in 2017 as the specialist voice and accent tutor.
