Elaine Claxton
Associate Lecturer
A degree in French followed by a post-graduate year at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. Since then a working actor for over forty years. Seasons at the National Theatre , Theatr Clwyd, and various regional and touring theatres. Four times a member of the BBC Radio Drama Company, recording hundreds of radio plays, poetry and comedy programmes. Most recent work (2016 and 2017) has been in TV and film: 25 episodes of a CBeebies children's show, 10 episodes of Emmerdale, Television Dramas for BBC, ITV and Sky TV including Delicious,The Coroner and The Death of Stalin.
Teaching experience includes RADA between 1999 and 2003 (sight-reading and radio technique). Workshops on voice and dialect for Hall for Cornwall and dialect coach for several productions both in Cornwall (O Region, Cube) and in London (Fame,West End production).
