Meet our class of September 2024.
Meet the graduates
Katy Billaud-Denneullin-Wright
Katy Billaud-Denneullin-Wright is an artist based in Bordeaux. Moving Mountains is a visual interpretation of the sublime and majestic element of the mountain, intending to tell a story of a deep ancestral connection with nature by ‘borrowing’ from the landscape and translating it into a new artistic language.
Simon Bond
Simon works across animation, digital images, drawing and text, and is interested in the inherent power of language, the ways in which words carry meaning, and often invite contradiction, humour and subversion of meaning.
Marina Burgess
"I am currently exploring human consciousness and how we experience ourselves and our surroundings. I have a meditative painting practice where I study photos of the streets and buildings close to where I live. I also use photography to express ideas inspired by what I see and feel."
Karina Busquets
"Inspired by my personal experience as an immigrant and my Brazilian cultural background, I am fascinated by gathering, assembling and creating narratives, reflecting on identity and belonging."
Alice Butler
Alice's project “A Cozy Escape” is a virtual experience set within the metaverse on the Rec Room platform. It is designed as a cozy escape room, facilitating collaborative puzzle-solving while encouraging discussions about the capitalist frameworks embedded in cozy games.
Penny Chivers Stanley
Penny Chivers Stanley is an interdisciplinary artist based in Wiltshire, England. She works with paint, drawing, text, performance and moving image as interrelated processes with blurred boundaries; working in an emergent way responding to the materiality of varied mediums.
Stephanie Dakin
"I am an artist that works with sculptural installations which can be interacted with by the viewer. I am interested in the sustainability of the planetary system and space, through exploring the world without damaging it. Major themes in my work include space and tactility."
Joanne Gelsthorpe
Yorkshire-based visual artist Joanne Gelsthorpe draws inspiration from the inherent qualities of natural materials. Her exploration of this has fostered a deep interest in the interplay between human interaction and material properties, shaping processes that highlight their mutual influence.
Mark Holman
"I hope to encourage discourse and create a space that will allow people to feel supported and more able to make healthier choices for the environment. As an award-winning horticulturalist, I’m a keen believer in the restorative quality of plants and their natural desire to thrive. I draw upon a deep connection to the living world to facilitate and engage with human nature within my artwork."
Georgia Houry
"I was born in Athens in February 1975 to a Cypriot Lebanese father and a French Hong-Kongese mother. As a mother of three girls I am currently based in Limassol, Cyprus. Deeply influenced by my multicultural background, my life has been a journey of navigating between diverse cultures, languages, and traditions."
Sharon Neish
Sharon Neish, also working as Coleen Duff, is a London-based artist activist motivated by social, political and environmental issues. Her practice varies between site-specific installation, performance and participatory art.
Rossana Pinero Weksler
"I am a visual artist working in painting, drawing, photography and mixed media installation. I use abstraction as my language, because it enables freedom in my storytelling. In my visual research, the presence of ancient and contemporary places revolves around the lives of people that passed through these places."
Cindy Powell
"I am an oil painter who also utilises multimedia, charcoal and graphite in my artistic endeavours. My preferred styles are figurative, realistic, anecdotal and more recently conceptual. Originally from South Africa, I currently reside in Wiltshire, UK. My subjects include animals, humans and nature. I explore the fragility of nature and the hubris of mankind through anecdotal paintings."
Stuart Robinson
"My practice is predominantly sculptural based, often utilising elements of installation and performative methodologies. The work explores the potential of materials to further narrative contexts, utilising the imbued meaning in objects as a part of the process. The making and journey of the works form an important part of the practice."
Anupa Sahdev
"I am a multidisciplinary artist based in London, working across various media, including fine art, sound, and video. The essence of my creative practice lies in uncovering and exploring spaces for the unheard, unknown, and unseen. My work is deeply influenced by the Romantic poet John Keats, particularly his concept of negative capability, honouring the unknown while revealing hidden truths within and around us."
Gemma Scott
"I create expressive seascape paintings from my studio at home, drawn to the coastal, wild places of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. Using mainly oil paint and natural pigments, my work connects directly to the natural world. Intuitive mark-making and emotional responses inform the creation of my paintings."
Charlie Tak Hei Kwong
Charlie Tak Hei Kwong is an interdisciplinary digital artist and a registered teaching professional in both Hong Kong and Canada. His digital practice spans massive data, web, sound, film, literature, transmedia storytelling, autobiography, community and education.
