BA(Hons) Costume Design for Film & Television final year student Maisie Pepperell discusses collaborating with filmmakers and textile designers, and taking her expertly-crafted costumes into the virtual realm using our specialist green screen studio.

"I'm Maisie Pepperell, a third year student of Costume Design for Film & Television at Falmouth University.

"This term I've been working on a project called Virtual Production. We've been working in the green screen studio and using technologies with digital environments.

"I've worked with the directors and the production designers of each film. This term I've made a spacesuit, I've made a snow sniper, a medieval knight and I've also made some parkour runners. I've also been working with textile students to provide badges for the spacesuit and things like that.

"I chose to come to Falmouth as a first year because I loved the open plan nature of the space. Through all the modules that we learn on the course, I feel really prepared to go into the industry.

"We work a lot on set etiquette as well as script analysis, different design methods, and making practices as well.

"Falmouth is a really good level of busyness and excitement with a relaxing, calm nature. And you're by the beach. It can't get much better than that!"
