Virtual event
In this interactive workshop, we'll share practical tips to help your personal statement stand out. You'll explore how to structure your statement, identify the skills, experiences and achievements you could include, and access useful planning resources to support your writing.
As a mature student, you may have a wealth of experience to draw upon from work, volunteering, family responsibilities or other life experiences. We'll explore how these can strengthen your application and help demonstrate your motivation for study.
We understand that returning to education and writing a personal statement can feel daunting, particularly if you've been out of formal learning for some time. That's why you'll also hear from current mature students about how they approached their personal statement, what they chose to highlight, and the advice they'd give to others starting the application process.
This event will be hosted on Microsoft Teams. For the best experience, we recommend downloading the Teams app in advance. Participant cameras and microphones will be switched off throughout the session, with questions submitted via the chat function.
