About the accommodation
Packsaddle Hill offers student accommodation in shared flats, and a small number of self-contained single occupancy studio flats.
Each shared flat is shared between six to eight students, with a fully equipped communal kitchen and social area.
Our accommodation application ballot is now open. Make sure to submit your application before 17:00 on 5 June 2026. Applications received after the June deadline are not guaranteed a place in University owned or managed accommodation.
Where is it?
Packsaddle Hill
Found just a short walk from Penryn Campus, Packsaddle Hill is located in peaceful surroundings in the steep, wooded outskirts of Penryn. There is a bus stop a minute’s walk from the accommodation which offers services to Falmouth and Falmouth Campus.
What's in the local area?
Penryn Campus: 15-minute walk or a very short bus journey. On Penryn Campus you'll find The Stannary, our on-campus bar, kitchen and events venue, among other cafes and bars. You'll also find our Penryn Campus Sports Centre, library and Glasney Student Village.
Penryn: Easily reached on foot or via bus, Penryn is a small town on the Penryn River. In the town centre you'll find an array of local pubs and eateries, while Penryn train station offers access to Falmouth and Truro.

The rooms at Packsaddle Hill are en-suite bedrooms in shared flats, with a small number of self-contained studio flats also available.
The shared flats include single occupancy en-suite bedrooms, fully equipped communal kitchens and a social living area. These rooms contain a 3/4 size double bed. "3/4 double bed" means the beds are slightly smaller than a 'standard' double bed, but still larger than a single bed.
Each self-contained studio includes a kitchenette, bathroom and combined bedroom/living area.

When applying for Packsaddle Hill you will see a price range and a list of room types. You will only be able to apply for a standard room however those students that are allocated to this residence will be allocated any one of those room types. Studios will be prioritised for those students with a disability or medical related condition.
