Rosie Blake
Associate Lecturer, BA Photography and BA Fashion Photography
Rosie is a commercial fashion photographer and an educator at Falmouth University with creativity at her core.
High concept editorial shoots to inventively technical commercial projects, Rosie’s relaxed yet confident shooting style gives her the power to dig deep, finding the essence in each shoot to create images that set themselves apart.
From design conception, to organising and running shoots, right through to post-production – Rosie’s always up to the challenge. Whether it’s an awe-inspiring studio ad campaign or a windswept location feature, Rosie sets out to seize the true personality of every subject which she manages with her creative eye and love of technical geekery.
Studying at London College of Fashion and Falmouth College of Art helped Rosie unfurl her craft, channelling new perspectives into her work and instilling a deep appreciation for Helmut Newton and Ellen Von Unwerth – who have gone on to influence and shape her work ever since.
Assisting well-known photographers in far-flung places gave Rosie the insight she needed to go it alone. Honing her craft in London for ten years, Rosie shot spellbinding images for the likes of Charlie Brear, Whistles, The Guardian, Glamour Magazine and Cosmopolitan Magazine.
Taking the leap, Rosie relocated to Cornwall in 2017, where its space, stillness, and briny ocean help add more layers to her photography & art work, with more room to breathe.
