Andy Chatfield
Senior Lecturer, Production Journalism
Andy is a former deputy editor of the Oxford Mail, who worked in the newspaper industry for 20 years in a range of roles in print and online, including editing a large number of in-house magazines and supplements for titles in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
He joined the Journalism team at Falmouth University in September 2015, after eight years as a lecturer and course leader in Journalism at Southampton Solent University. His teaching specialisms include politics, media law and online journalism. He is Production Editor for the website truthfal.com and designs the annual yearbook of student and staff work.
He continues to practise as a journalist and also runs a media consultancy, offering a range of writing, design, training and social media services. His clients span many sectors, including a cardboard box manufacturer and a political party. He is a specialist in InDesign and was the chief designer on a range of newspaper redesigns for Newsquest.
