Third-year Illustration students have been shortlisted in several categories of the World Illustration Awards 2018.

The categories in which the students have been shortlisted are Editorial, Children's Books, Experimental and Site-Specific.

Nominees include:

• Lara Hawthorne – The Night Flower (Children's Books)
• Owen Davey – Facebook Fundraisers (Editorial)
• Eleanor Hardiman – Onsen (Experimental)
• Ana Jaks – House of Us (Site Specific)
• Tatjana Junker – Science of SAD (Editorial)

Tatjana Junker reflected: "I was in New York for industry visits when the email popped up on my phone. I was very surprised and excited, it feels surreal to have my image printed and exhibited next to incredibly talented illustrators.

"Coming from a graphic design background in Germany, the illustration course helped me discover my own creative language and the confidence to share my work. Working in a studio next to so many skilled, creative minds was very inspiring and motivating."

The awards evening, taking place at Somerset House in June, will feature a high-profile exhibition of all shortlisted entries, accompanied by an industry events programme which is directly mailed to 1,300 major commissioners.

The winning exhibition will tour the UK and be showcased overseas, to be seen by 50,000 visitors of the course of the year.
