Photography students met one of their idols last week when they welcomed British documentary photographer and photojournalist Martin Parr to campus.

Martin gave a guest lecture, where he gave an insight into the industry and spoke about his experiences and career. Students also had the opportunity to exhibit their work and receive feedback from Martin.

Press & Editorial Photography student Emily Marcovecchio said: "Martin Parr is someone whose work I have always respected and heard people talk about, from secondary school through to my art foundation. To meet him in person and have him critique my work was incredibly eye opening; he has a very particular eye, so to gain such wonderful feedback was really rewarding.

"We are so lucky on Press & Ed to have such a variety of visiting speakers, which are always so keen to review and discuss our work! We also spend a week in London this month, where we are able to talk to a huge variety of influential people."
