Creative Events Management students collaborate with The Cornish Bank to host themed night
28 November 2025
A group of second year Creative Events Management BA(Hons) students are currently working with Falmouth’s popular non-profit, grassroots music venue, The Cornish Bank, to host an exciting jungle and disco themed music event on 3 December 2025.
As part of their course, the students were required to collaborate with a local business to create an engaging event that brings people together, raises money for charity and highlights the creativity of the Cornish community.
The Cornish Bank is making a name for itself on the national music scene as a leading grassroots venue, and was recently featured in a Guardian article on the importance of regional music venues.

Having chosen The Cornish Bank as their venue, the group are now working closely with the business to organise and write copy for the event landing page, contact and bring together the DJs who will be performing on the night, organise merchandise from their chosen charity and create promotional material. The team have also set up an Instagram account to build interest in the event.
Student and event liaison, Rebecca Nelson, said: “We’ve organised it to be a jungle and disco themed night, and we have sourced local DJs from all around Cornwall to be part of the line-up. It’s going to be a fun evening, and we will be there on the night with collection buckets, selling merchandise for the Amber Foundation, who is the charity we will be supporting on the night.”
The Amber Foundation helps young adults to transform their lives, offering support to people who are unemployed or homeless to work towards building better and brighter futures.
To help maximise their donation to the foundation, the students recently organised a pub quiz as a fundraiser for the event, working together to create a fun evening for local people while building funds for their event in December.
The project allows students to foster a collaborative approach to event management, gaining real-world experience of organising all parts of an event, from funding to marketing and event liaison.
