A feast of real, invented and re-made rituals, Rituals Are Tellers Of Us brings together works that take inspiration from rich folk traditions and communal acts. This group exhibition includes paintings of costumed figures by Eleanor Moreton, Tim Shaw's mythological fertility sculptures, the exaggerated folk costumes of Matthew Cowan, Tereza Buskova's video of spring rites, and works by other artists in a range of media.

Curated by MA Curatorial Practice students from Falmouth University, in partnership with Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange. This is the fifth year of Falmouth University's MA Curatorial Practice course. The project was selected from three proposed by the students in January. Gallery staff guide and mentor the students through each area of delivering a public exhibition.

Blair Todd, Deputy Director and Exhibitions Curator at Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange said: "This year's students have curated a particularly ambitious group exhibition. It brings together international artists with leading artists from the region to create a thoughtful perspective on the human desire for ritual. The exhibition has a particular resonance with the wealth of May traditions in Cornwall.

"The student curators took their inspiration for the exhibition concept, in part, from these regional folk traditions and springtime customs, but have also introduced other aspects of contemporary ritual, including actions such as protest."
