Cider with Rosie is adapted by Cornish playwright Nick Darke from the memoir by Laurie Lee.
Set between the two World Wars in rural Gloucestershire, Laurie Lee takes on a journey through his childhood. Growing up in the village of Slad, we are introduced to people and places long vanished. As Lee puts it: "My family was born into a world which saw, by chance, the end of a thousand years of life. Of white narrow roads rutted by hooves and cartwheels, innocent as yet of the motor car, down which people rarely passed and almost never for pleasure, and where the horse was the fastest thing moving."
