Award: £2,000 towards Online postgraduate tuition fees.

Who it's for: Offer holders applying for a part-time online postgraduate full MA course, demonstrating exceptional talent. 

The £2,000 awards are allocated as follows: 12 x postgraduate scholarships for each intake in 2025/26 academic year  

Please note students can only receive one scholarship each and will not be eligible for any other tuition fee discounts. 

About the scholarship

Falmouth University is offering scholarships to its most talented Online Postgraduate students starting their first year of study with us in September 2025, January 2026 or May 2026. 

  • The Talent scholarship offers eligible students £2,000 towards Online Postgraduate Tuition fees.  
  • This sum will be applied by the University as a credit towards the final instalments of the student’s Year 2 tuition fees by way of a deduction to the total remaining fee payable and is conditional on the successful student enrolling on Year 2. 

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Talent scholarship, the student must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Be a new student to Falmouth University, starting an full 2 – year Online postgraduate course in September 2025, January 2026 or May 2026 
  • Be entering directly into the first year of the full MA course starting in 2025/26 
  • Hold an offer for a part-time online postgraduate MA course starting in 2025/26  
  • PGCHE Online and On-campus courses are not included in the Award Scheme. 

In addition, to be eligible for our scholarship, you need to have submitted the award application form by the deadline for the intake you are applying: 

  • September 2025 entry: 04 August 2025 (UK time)  
  • January 2026 entry: 24 November 2026 (UK time)  
  • May 2026 entry: 30 March 2026 (UK time)

The statement needs to include:

  • Your full name with which you applied 
  • Your Falmouth student ID  
  • Confirmation that you have received an offer from us 
  • A valid phone number we can contact you on 
  • A 500-word statement which includes: Your academic/professional achievements, your motivation for studying the course and your choice of Falmouth, how the course will connect to your future career.

Note: The statement is not about why you need a scholarship 

How it's awarded

Each academic department will attribute awards based on the following criteria:

  • Previous experience and potential outlined in the supporting statement
  • Application performance (including a portfolio, task and personal statement, where applicable), scored by the academic team.
  • Where the number of suitable applicants either exceeds or fails to reach the total number of awards available, the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor will decide on those awards to be made using the criteria detailed above and the professional judgement of its staff. 

When will I know if I've been awarded the scholarship?

The Online Student Recruitment team will inform successful applicants of outcomes: 

  • First round: by the 19 August 2025. Successful applicants will have until 26 August 2025 to accept their offer (by paying the £250 acceptance fee) and the scholarship. Otherwise, it will be lost. 
  • Second round (if some successful applicants from the first round have not been accepted in time): by 27 August 2025. Successful applicants will have until 3 September 2025 to accept their offer (by paying the £250 acceptance fee) and the scholarship. Otherwise, it will be lost. 
  • Successful applicants will be contacted by phone and email, using the details provided in their application. Please ensure your phone number appears on your application. 
  • First round: by 8 December 2025. Successful applicants will have until 16 December 2024 to accept their offer (by paying the £250 acceptance fee) and the scholarship. Otherwise, it will be lost. 
  • Second round (if some successful applicants from the first round have not been accepted in time): by 2 January 2026. Successful applicants will have until 9 January 2026 to accept their offer (by paying the £250 acceptance fee) and the scholarship. Otherwise, it will be lost. 
  • First round: by the 13 April 2026. Successful applicants will have until 20 April 2026 to accept their offer (by paying the £250 acceptance fee) and the scholarship. Otherwise, it will be lost. 
  • Second round (if some successful applicants from the first round have not been accepted in time): by 21 April 2026. Successful applicants will have until 27 April 2026 to accept their offer (by paying the £250 acceptance fee) and the scholarship. Otherwise, it will be lost. 

Further information

  • As the university only has a limited number of scholarships available, we recommend you only make an application if you can afford tuition fees and living costs 
  • We do not offer full scholarships for 2025/26 entry 
  • We do not offer scholarships for any other intake 
  • The University’s decision on the award of these scholarships will be final. 
  • Bursaries are only valid for the intake you originally applied for and cannot be transferred. If you defer your place, you must reapply for the bursary, and there is no guarantee your new application will be successful
