Join us for this 11 week online course for a fast, practical deep‑dive into writing comedy for the screen across seven of the most powerful subgenres: horror, romantic, sci‑fi/fantasy, action, satirical, location, and musical comedy.

We recommend that each week will require approximately four hours of study which can be done at your own pace at a time that suits you.

Alongside this self-paced study there are live webinars and 1:1 tutorials with timings below.

When

Online course: Monday 18th May - Sunday 2nd August 2026
All activities in this course are self-paced so you can fit the course in around your commitments, and you will have access to the course for a further 4-weeks after the end date. We suggest that you allow around 4 hours per week of study on top of the live webinars and drop-in sessions below.

Live webinars

Week 0: 1hr drop-in for meet & greet Tuesday 12th May 6.30pm - 7.30pm

Weeks 1-11: 2.5 hrs webinar including lecture on Tuesdays each week 6pm - 8.30pm

Weeks 4 & 7: 15 min 1:1, scheduled with your course tutor.  

We encourage you to join the live webinars, but they are also recorded so that you can access them afterwards.

This is a fully online course and can be undertaken from any location with a suitable internet connection.
