Ted Giffords

Ted Giffords is a BAFTA winning cinematographer, producer, and wildlife filmmaker with more than two decades of experience capturing some of the world's most extraordinary natural history stories. Ted has worked on many of the BBC Natural History Unit's landmark productions, including Planet Earth, Frozen Planet, Blue Planet II, and Seven Worlds, One Planet, filming in some of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth. Ted has also worked on Productions for Disney, National Geographic and Netflix including Our Great National Parks with Barak Obama.
With a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting, Ted brings a broad perspective to natural history filmmaking, blending story telling with a deep appreciation of the natural world.
Known in the industry for his technical innovation and creative problem-solving, Ted has been instrumental in the development of several camera systems used widely in the industry today. Ted is also the founder of TSHED, a specialist engineering and equipment company that designs and builds bespoke camera systems and technical solutions for wildlife filmmakers worldwide. Through TSHED, he has helped advance the tools and techniques used in modern natural history filmmaking.
His cinematography has received international recognition, including Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Blue Planet II and Meerkat Manor, reflecting his contribution to some of television's most acclaimed factual productions.
