Agnieszka Blonska
Senior Lecturer in Acting and Theatre & Performance
Agnieszka Blonska is a theatre director and researcher based in the UK since 2003. For over the last 20 years she has worked in Britain and internationally as an independent artist and in collaboration with theatre companies and theatres such as Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw, National Theatre Studio in London, Soho Theatre, Tate St Ives, Theatre Institute in Warsaw, Theatre Bristol, Hall For Cornwall, Wildworks Theatre, Desperate Men, DotComedy, Mercurial Wrestler, imPOSSIBLE Producing, Projekt Europa and Circomedia in Bristol.
In her practice Agnieszka is particularly interested in subjects of identity, collectivity and politics of individual experience. Through varied forms, including participatory and performative theatre, and methodologies: devising and improvisation, she often explores boundaries of traditional understanding of drama and play and examines deconstruction and non-linear approach to a performance. In recent years, Agnieszka started to investigate possibilities of digital technology, in particular sound, within performance and its impact on dramaturgy, participants and audiences.
Agnieszka works as a senior lecturer in Acting and Theatre & Performance at Falmouth University. She holds an MA in Social Sciences with specialisation in Anthropology of Culture (Warsaw University) and Post Graduate Diploma in Drama Directing (Bristol Old Vic Theatre School). Agnieszka is a co-founder of Kerpow (Kernow Power of Women) and an artistic advisor for Projekt Europa. In 2008 she was nominated to the Arts Foundation Award for Young Theatre Directors and in 2022 was awarded Gorsedh Kernow's Certificate of Recognition for Creative Work. In 2025 Agnieszka got awarded a yearlong research secondment at Centre for Blended Realities at Falmouth University.
