Applying with an Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)

How do you get Accreditation of Prior Learning?

Here at Falmouth, we accredit your prior learning if we consider it the equivalent of the standard entry requirements. If we grant you an Accreditation of Prior Learning, this could mean you are able to study your chosen course, or that you are exempt from taking certain modules on that course.

We consider Accreditation of Prior Learning requests carefully, as we want to grant fair access to studying with us, while also ensuring you'll be able to thrive on your chosen course.

In order to apply with Accreditation of Prior Learning, you'll first need to complete your application for your chosen course. The Applicant Services team will then decide whether you may need to complete the APL process. If you do, you'll be sent information about the next steps you'll need to take.

If the course team would like to make you an offer, they'll make a decision about whether you need to complete the APL form. If you do need to complete the APL form, your offer to study will be conditional on successfully completing the APL process (alongside any other requirements for the course, such as English language requirements).
