Animation & Visual Effects graduates Prawta Annez and Camilla Kjaernet have been nominated for Best Undergraduate Student Film at the 2020 British Animation Awards.

The duo, who graduated in 2018, have been shortlisted for their animation, Towels, which they produced in their final year at Falmouth.

The animation has already achieved acclaim with it being shortlisted and screened in numerous film festivals, including the Learning on Screen Awards and winning Best Animation at last year's Royal Television Society (RTS) Devon and Cornwall Student Awards. This regional success propelled the film all the way to the National Finals in London.

Andy Joule, Head of Animation & Visual Effects, said: "We're immensely proud that Towels has been nominated. It's well-deserved and such a resounding confirmation of the quality of Prawta, Camilla and their talented team's work. This was their debut animation and the film has already generated so much success. We wish them all the luck at the awards."

Every two years the animation community get together for a night of celebration as the British Animation Awards host an awards ceremony for all that is great about animation in the UK. This year the awards take place on Thursday 12 March at BFI in London.
