Hallie Mitchell, a student who chose to study Falmouth’s Photoshop ACP short course on top of her degree, has beaten 10,000 other students to become the UK and Ireland’s Adobe Champion 2025. This impressive achievement happened when Hallie took the Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) exam as part of the short course, an exam that tests students on their skills and knowledge, naming the entree with the highest score as champion.

Now, Hallie is preparing for the next step in this exciting journey, to become the Worldwide Champion and win $8,000 in the process.

Hallie will compete in the finals next month in Florida, where she is being flown out to enter the final competition, explore Walt Disney World Florida during her free time, and end the trip with an awards ceremony where the Worldwide Champion is announced.

When asked how it all happened, Hallie said: “I entered the competition as part of my Photoshop ACP exam and managed to win by getting the highest score in the quickest time. It feels very surreal to be announced as the champion as it’s not something I expected to win – it’s such an exciting achievement!”

Hallie added: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Falmouth; I’ve learnt so much from the lecturers, the industry opportunities I’ve had, and the friends I’ve made along the way. Falmouth University has made me the designer I am today and has opened so many opportunities for me, such as this one.”

Falmouth University is home to a range of short courses that provide ACP qualifications and the chance to enter such competitions while building digital skills.

Speaking on Hallie’s success, Rob Ingram, Falmouth’s Senior Head of the Academy of Continuing Education, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled for Hallie on this incredible achievement — becoming the UK and Ireland Adobe Champion is no small feat and is a real testament to her talent, creativity, and dedication. It’s fantastic to see one of our students heading to the World Finals to represent the UK and Ireland on a global stage.”

He continued: “At the Academy of Continuing Education, we’re proud to support students and professionals alike through flexible, industry-recognised Adobe Certified Professional training.”

Susannah Travis, Digital Skills Manager, added: “Huge congratulations to Hallie! We’re incredibly proud to have supported her journey through Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) courses. This achievement reflects Hallie’s dedication and the team’s hard work—well done to all!”
