Student Cards

Why do I need a student card?

Your student card enables you to prove your student status and it is also used to gain access to a variety of services:

  • IT and library services
  • Buildings
  • Proving your student status
  • Discounted public transport
  • Many other student discounts

How do I apply for a student card?

You will be sent an email with a student number and instructions to allow you to upload a photo of yourself, so that we can produce a student ID card for you.

When will I receive my student card?

If you have uploaded your photo by the deadline, you will be issued with a student card in your welcome pack.

For students living on campus, you will receive this when you collect your keys from the accommodation team during the Welcome Weekend.

Students arriving after Sunday 11 September should collect their welcome pack from the Student Administration team in The Compass during induction week or from the Student Administration offices thereafter.

Your first student card is issued to you free of charge. If you lose your card, or it becomes damaged, a replacement card can be issued for a fee.
