Why do I need a student card?

Your student card enables you to prove your student status and it is valid for:

  • Official University ID
  • Sports membership eligibility
  • Building access
  • Voting in FXU elections
  • Photocopying and printing
  • Library and equipment borrowing
  • Student Union membership
  • IT access
  • Discounted public transport
  • Many other student discounts

How do I apply for a student card?

You will be sent an email with a student number and instructions to allow you to upload a photo of yourself, so that we can produce a student ID card for you.

When will I receive my student card?

If you have uploaded your photo by the deadline, you will be issued with a student card when you arrive on campus.

For students living on campus, you will receive this when you collect your keys from the Accommodation Team during Welcome Week.

Your first student card is issued to you free of charge. If you lose your card, or it becomes damaged, a replacement card can be issued for a fee.
