About the masterclass

The 150-Year Head Start

What designers already know that AI doesn't change

Everyone is tired of hearing about AI. Consumer excitement has fallen from 50% to 19% in two years, "AI slop" has entered the language, and labelling a product "AI-powered" now makes people trust it less, not more. So this masterclass won't sell it to you.

The honest position: AI has changed how interfaces get made. It hasn't changed what makes them work. The hard problems of design (holding attention, earning trust, knowing what feels right, knowing when friction helps rather than hurts) are human problems, and they have been studied seriously since 1876. That is a 150-year head start, sitting in research most of the industry never reads.

In 45 minutes, we take three of today's loudest design questions and show that the answers are already written: named, dated, and usable on Monday. Whether you're a practising designer, a career switcher, or simply hype-fatigued, you'll leave knowing which skills appreciate while the tools churn.
