“At first, I was a little hesitant to study a master’s course. But I’m so pleased I went for it.

Studying a master’s degree online alongside work has been helpful with my career progression, as much of what I’m learning on the Marketing and Digital Communications MA can be applied directly to working in industry. The online master's degree is designed to be flexible and work around life commitments which is ideal for my lifestyle. I can work in London, and go on the occasional trip abroad, all while making the most of the course.

I have particularly enjoyed the module Innovation and Industry, in which we had to establish, and pitch, an innovative idea. It was fun coming up with different creative ideas, especially within a group setting. The module completely transformed my approach to marketing and equipped me with innovative thinking skills. It has also been great to get to know other students all over the country and there is a real sense of community on the course.

Unlike other marketing courses, the course at Falmouth is relevant to the current cultural landscape, with a real focus on marketing for positive change.

I am currently part way through a module entitled Creative Digital Storytelling, which gets us analysing how advertising campaigns can be shaped using creative tools. The Marketing and Digital Communications master's course has taught me new ways of thinking which have been incredibly valuable. I’ve learnt in detail essential marketing practices such as planning a marketing strategy and writing creative briefs. The course has also taught me to practice self-discipline.

I have been inspired to use my skills in marketing for social change, something that makes the programme at Falmouth unique. Unlike other marketing courses, the master's degree at Falmouth is relevant to the current cultural landscape, with a real focus on marketing for positive change.

I cannot recommend this online course enough if you are someone looking to enter the marketing industry or further your career. The tutors are encouraging, knowledgeable and inspiring, and our regular contact with them is interspersed with lots of guest appearances from industry leaders. And I have landed a job within the marketing team at a social enterprise I really admire, which is a huge testament to the master's degree.

My long-term ambition is to continue to learn and grow as a marketer, perhaps using my skills to start my own business one day.”
