Professional Engagement
Independent professional practice
- Alongside his academic role, Giovanni maintains an active independent practice under the name GioBorrows and contracts as a narrative designer and games writer.
- Among his more recent projects, there’s a collaboration with the international game studio MD Studio, where he wrote and designed the narrative of the historical cozy gardening game set in the abbey of Port-Royal des Champs: The Abbess Garden.
- In parallel he released Frozen Assets under his microgames development practice.
- His work exemplifies the realities of contemporary indie development, where small studios operate across borders with distributed teams and mixed funding models.
