Gina Goodman
Lecturer, Marine & Natural History Photography BA(Hons)
I am a multi award-winning underwater photographer, diving instructor, and enthusiastic lecturer with a deep and genuine love for the marine environment. I have been awarded in photography competitions internationally including the British Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards, International Photography Awards, Fine Art Photography Awards and the British Photography Awards. I have also worked commercially for businesses including Celtic Sea Power, Finisterre, RNLI, Nature TTL, Fourth Element and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.
In the last two decades I have travelled across the Caribbean, Europe and Africa photographing a diverse array of marine habitats, from coral reefs and eagle rays to kelp forests and cuttlefish. These experiences have led me to focus on rethinking our underwater equipment and techniques, in the hopes of diversifying and expanding our creative opportunities and experimentation underwater.
In 2025 I began working collaboratively with Celtic Sea Power to design and build an autonomous underwater monitoring system, documenting seal behaviour in Cornwall. We have successfully constructed a set of custom housed cameras that can record for 10 days unmanned, development of this system is continuing.
