On Monday last week, Falmouth University welcomed delegates from Singapore’s LASALLE College of the Arts to our campuses in Cornwall. During the visit, our Vice Chancellor & Chief Executive Professor Emma Hunt and LASALLE’s President, Professor Steve Dixon, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

LASALLE College of the Arts is Asia’s leading contemporary arts and design institution. They offer 30 diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in fine arts, design communication, interior design, product design, film, animation, fashion, dance, music, theatre, arts management, arts pedagogy and practice, art therapy, Asian art histories and creative writing.

Currently ranked within the top 151-200 institutions globally for art and design (QS World University Rankings 2022), the college is set to become part of Singapore’s new university of the arts, which is under development.

We have had a long-standing relationship with Falmouth University since 2017, and I'm deeply appreciative of their generous, collaborative spirit and the positive outcomes of our student exchanges over the years.

The signing of the MOU recognises the growing relationship between our two institutions, and our shared vision of empowering the next generation of forward-looking, globally engaged creatives.

LASALLE’s President, Professor Steve Dixon, says: "We have had a long-standing relationship with Falmouth University since 2017, and I'm deeply appreciative of their generous, collaborative spirit and the positive outcomes of our student exchanges over the years. The great complementary strengths of our programme offerings and pedagogical approaches make this MOU a welcome next step towards taking this partnership even further."

Professor Emma Hunt, Vice Chancellor & Chief Executive of Falmouth University, says: “LASALLE’s commitment to empowering students to become global citizens through creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship echoes the values of Falmouth University. We’re very excited to see how this relationship will evolve.”
