Thesis title
From misrepresentation to meaningful visualisation: Reframing Artificial Intelligence (AI) stock imagery through practice-based research
Abstract
As AI appears in our lives in so many ways, how is it shown to us in stock images. These pictures populate marketing material, advertising, social media, news sites and more, so they have an impact on the public perception of these technologies.
Through qualitative and quantitative research, I hope to analyse the existing visual vernacular associated with artificial intelligence and though practice, offer alternative visual language that is more accurate and communicates more clearly what happens when we are using AI.
