Back in March, Falmouth University’s Outreach Team launched a creative competition aimed at Year 9 and 10 students from schools across Cornwall and Devon. The brief was to design a postcard on one of three themes: Home, Travel or Creativity.

We had over 40 entries from across 12 local schools, all at an extremely high standard. Winners and runners up were selected from both year group categories. Mandy Jandrell, Dean of the Faculty of Creative Arts and Communication, who judged the entries was so impressed she had to create an extra Highly Commended category due to the exceptional quality of the work on display!

Our Outreach Team have been busy visiting schools to celebrate the entrants work and award prizes to the winners, which have included: Falmouth art supplies, vouchers, specialist equipment and 1:1 art workshops, as well as £250 worth of resources for winning schools.

All entries were also exhibited at our Falmouth Campus as part of our Community Day on Saturday 27 May alongside the work of our own graduating students.
