Fran Woodward

Fran is the Chief Operating Officer and a Board member of Good Energy PLC, an AIM listed business which pioneered the use of renewable energy in the UK. Today Good Energy helps people in their homes and businesses, reduce their carbon footprint through the provision of 100% renewable electricity and the installation of energy generating and saving technologies, like heat-pumps, solar panels and batteries. Fran plays a key role on the Good Energy Board driving the business strategy, inclusive of leading a significant transformation agenda due to the acquisition of new businesses. As COO, she leads the sales, marketing, customer services, engineering operations, people and culture and new business integration teams.
In addition to her understanding of the environmental agenda, gained from 10 years at Good Energy, Fran’s career has been particularly focussed on people. She threads together the needs and interests of an organisation’s customers and its key stakeholders with those of its employees to ensure business strategies and culture are aligned and deliver outcomes which lead to long term success.
Fran has over 25 years leadership experience from a breadth of organisations and industries including Marks & Spencer, Legal & General, Coca-Cola, HarperCollins and Dyson.
Fran was raised on the North Devon/Cornwall border by her Devonian father and French mother and feels a strong affinity to the South-West and the part she can play in contributing to the social and economic agenda of the region.
Fran read English Literature and French at Oxford University, is a Chartered member of the Institute of Personnel and Development and is a councillor for the Confederation of Business and Industry (CBI) for the South-West. She is especially happy when in the places she was brought up, on Sandymouth beach in Corwall or in the French Alps. She has 2 teenage kids, and a crazy spaniel, who is her perfect running buddy. She is an avid reader, with a 15-year running book club, and could not survive winter without films, boxsets and friends.
