Acceptance fee

On-Campus

The following acceptance fees are applicable for those individuals starting their course in 2024 (January or September): 

  • UK nationals not eligible for 'Home' fees: £250 
  • Non-visa nationals (including EU nationals without 'Settled' or 'Pre-settled' Status: £500 
  • Visa nationals: £2,500 

50% of the first year of tuition fees will be requested pre-enrolment * (*If you are from any of the countries mentioned on this list).

Online

If you apply for an online master's course you'll need to pay a £250 acceptance fee. 

N.B. Some of our online master’s courses have a £350 acceptance fee for May 2024 enrolments. To find out which applies to you, check the course page.

When to pay your acceptance fee

The acceptance fee should be submitted with the acceptance of an offer of a place at the University. Once a student starts their studies, the acceptance fee is allocated as part of the first payment due for tuition fees.

Refunding acceptance fees

The acceptance fee will only be refunded in accordance with the below guidance. Additionally, if the acceptance of a study place is cancelled within 14 days of receipt of payment, or if visa nationals fail to secure a visa; we will require notification from the appropriate High Commission and may process a refund.

Guidance on Acceptance Fee refunds, in cases of applicant withdrawals:

Please note: in instances where a course application is received within 30 days of the start of the course, then the final point listed above will stand, with 0% of the Acceptance Fee being refunded, irrespective of whether CAS has been processed.

How to pay

You can pay tuition fees yourself or by tuition fee loan. Click the relevant sub-heading below to find out more details.

If you're a UK or home fees status postgraduate student you can pay in 3 equal instalments each year taken on the first day of each Study Block.

If you're an online student you'll also follow this payment schedule.

If you pay the international fee rate, then you'll pay in two instalments with 50% due on day 1 of Study Block 1 and the remaining 50% due on day 1 of Study Block 2.

Acceptance fees

If you're required to pay an acceptance fee, remember to deduct that amount from your first payment when paying direct.

Students in receipt of a postgraduate master's loan can pay their tuition fees in three equal instalments, at the start of each study block.

Changes to tuition fees

Tuition fees are subject to annual change. The University may raise fees in each subsequent year of study (where applicable) and we will confirm any change to the annual tuition fee to you in writing prior to you starting each subsequent year of study.
