2. Ferry to Flushing or St Mawes
Catch a ferry from the Prince of Wales Pier and go for a beautiful walk around the coast, go crabbing or just hit the beach.
3. Roller derby
Go retro and get your skates on. Roller Derby trains teams in Falmouth and Penryn for the Flat Track Roller Derby.
The FXU surf club is open to all students interested in surfing, including those who have never tried before, but fancy giving it a go! FXU's surf team have won the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) National Surfing competition two years in a row.
Falmouth Surf School offer surfing lessons at Porthtowan with reduced rates for students, all equipment and free transport.
Hire a kayak and discover the secret creeks of the Helford River. You can get kitted out and trained up at Falmouth Watersports Centre.
6. Cycle trails
Get on your bike and explore the the incredible World Heritage mining landscapes of the coast to coast Bissoe Trail from Devoran to Portreath. Or follow the Camel Trail to Padstow through the wooded countryside of the upper Camel Valley and alongside the Camel Estuary.
Falmouth's three beaches are easily accessible on foot or by bicycle.You can relax, swim or play volleyball with your friends.
8. Pendennis Castle
Take a picturesque stroll around the castle steeped in history at Pendennis Point.
Follow in the footsteps of Olympic champion Ben Ainslie and learn to sail in the sheltered waters of the Fal estuary.
10. FXU sports clubs
FXU have partnered with community sports clubs and Penryn College. There's a Sports Centre on the Penryn Campus and everything from hockey, netball, football and cycling to kung-fu, capoeira, kitesurfing, sea-swimming, snowboarding, circus skills, ultimate frisbee and an expedition society. You'll definitely find something here to keep you active.
