Falmouth University offers a range of software short courses for all current Falmouth Students.
Courses range from half day bitesize taster sessions that introduce the basics, up to nine weekly half-day sessions Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) courses that lead to a qualification.
Subjects range from Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro to HTML coding, Microsoft Excel, WordPress and After effects.
Gain valuable and industry sought after skills in web code. Learn to create a basic web page from scratch using HTML, the key language to get you started in web design. This will enable you to edit websites, web content management systems and HTML email... The next part of this course is CSS which will focus on the aesthetics of the web.
There are over twelve short taster courses to enable you to gain the basics of applications, understand what they are used for and if they're right for you. As well as an introduction to the most popular Adobe and Microsoft applications, we offer specific skills sessions including Creating Interactive Portfolios in Indesign, Intro to Adobe Illustrator, Using Word for Long Documents (dissertations) and Wordpress.
Adobe Certified Associate Qualification Courses (ACA)
The ACA is a certification that validates entry-level skills needed to plan, design, build, and maintain effective communications by using different forms of communication. ACA qualifications: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and InDesign.
These qualifications aren't just skills based, they also look at how to apply these skills in a professional environment (copyright, setting project requirements, evaluating digital images, typography, etc) The qualifications can be attained by attending the appropriate training courses, self-study and an automated exam via our Assessment Centre.
