Creative Robotics BSc(Hons)
This course responds to the rapid growth of the Internet of Things and the global market for robots in consumer and business contexts. The adoption of robotic technologies throughout society presents new design challenges and opportunities. Chief among these, focussing on the rise of social and creative robots in our everyday lives, is how to produce engaging human-robot interactions.

Taking a creative and humanistic approach, this degree will challenge you to solve real-world problems through solutions which integrate physical computing with human-centred design. After establishing a firm foundation in software and hardware development, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your skills to inspiring projects that span the creative and technical domains, on briefs set by industry partners.
- Develop an understanding of the social and cultural context for robotics and the implications for the design, engineering, deployment and adoption of robotic technologies.
- Develop the firm foundation in software and hardware development needed to develop your own robots. Including control systems, motion planning, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Be challenged to solve real-world problems by working in teams to apply human-centred design approaches to deliver robotic solutions.
- Apply your skills to inspiring projects spanning creative and technical domains, on briefs set by industry partners.
Choose between a three-year degree or a four-year degree with a year of professional practice. While you must select one for your UCAS application, you’ll have the chance to change your decision up to the end of your second year.
