Student Ambassador Activities

Examples of student ambassador work

Our student ambassadors are fully trained and normally work on events such as:

Open days

Student ambassadors have a central role in the running of our open days, which are held at various times of the year.

HE/schools careers fairs

Student ambassadors attend careers fairs held in schools and colleges, assisting with the promotion of Falmouth University and providing a useful insight into the student experience.

Campus tours

Student ambassadors lead our campus tours. We usually pair you up with a prospective student and family who are interested in the course you are studying. Campus tours must be booked in advance and usually run on Wednesdays and Fridays at 2pm.

Visits from schools and colleges

Student ambassadors assist in the programme of activities offered to incoming schools visiting our campuses.

Other departmental events

Student ambassadors work on a huge variety of events that are often great fun. These can range from helping graduates put on their robes at graduation ceremonies or being a bouncer at the Cornish dancing night, to being a model for prospectus photo shoots. You may be asked to help at move-in-weekend, or with international student orientation, leading tours of our campuses and Falmouth town.

Residential summer schools

Student ambassadors are employed to work at our residential summer schools. These run on campus and are aimed at providing prospective students with an insight into university life.

UCAS Higher Education Conventions

Some student ambassadors attend UCAS Higher Education fairs throughout the country and assist staff by promoting Falmouth and the whole student experience.

HE/schools workshops on campus

Some student ambassadors help run workshops on campus. These are usually workshops that are relevant to your degree. All necessary training is provided.

HE/schools workshops and projects off campus

Some student ambassadors will visit local Cornish schools to help run workshops or support school groups with projects. Sometimes student ambassadors will lead these workshops. All necessary training is provided before you are sent into schools.
