Tom Carter
Associate Lecturer
Meet Tom. Our globe trotting, never stopping, rule breaking, hip shaking, movie watching, picture taking, ever changing, art making, idea generating associate lecturer.
He once got a cease and desist from the Catholic Church, has photographed shoes at 5am in a field in Holland surrounded by sheep, has turned cat toys into skyscrapers, made two pink Russian tanks hump each other, sent coal to bad brands at Christmas and launched a festive hot sauce.
As an advertising creative Tom’s background is varied, from humble origins working in a pancake factory to running clothing brands from his bedroom. He skipped London and cut his teeth in Europe’s capital of debauchery, Amsterdam, at an independent agency. Having made a series of connections through internships and project work in London Tom has continued to work on a freelance basis with associate lecturing at Falmouth University helping keep his fingers on the industry’s pulse.
Tom has a sideways take on a career in advertising and encourages students to take as much from it as it can take from you. He believes in nurturing the creative interests outside of ads in order to truly establish what makes every student unique.
When Tom isn’t immersed in the world of creative communication he is making things from wood, running on peoples heads at gigs or reading books.
Clients include: Coca-Cola, Google, Hi-Tec, Nandos, Huawei, Jet Airways, MixMag, Foam Gallery & Bacardi.
