Senior Lecturer: Technical Design
Martin first entered the world of games development over 20 years ago and has been hooked ever since. Using a variety of different frameworks and game engines Martin has designed and developed games for multiple different platforms including desktop, web and mobile. Martin is a director of the local Falmouth Game Makers' community group and a veteran of many game jams including Ludum Dare, Global Game Jam, and Indie Speed Run. Most recently Martin worked as a technical programmer with Anti-Matter Games, developing in-house prototypes of new concepts and contributing code to the critically-acclaimed title Rising Storm, which PC Gamer named as its Multiplayer Game of The Year 2013. Now Martin is a key part of the BA(Hons) Game Development course, delivering sessions for the programming and design specialisms, and helping to structure the modules in which students develop games in multidisciplinary teams.
