Dr Umaima Haider
Lecturer in Computing
Dr Umaima Haider joined Falmouth is a Lecturer in computing since August 2020, with over 5 years of experience in academic research and teaching. She has contributed to various EU and InnovateUK funded research projects (worth over £2m) in cooperation with many partners across Europe.
Currently, Dr Haider’s main research interest is in the field of Cloud Computing and Data Centres, with a focus in the design and implementation of a sustainable digital infrastructure. Her research also focuses on Web Development, Distributed Systems, Software Architecture, Software Engineering and Information Security.
Dr Haider is a regular speaker at various major industry events such as at IPExpo, DCD, and DCW (London and Frankfurt), to name a few. Additionally, she often writes articles for professional media magazines such as Data Centre Solutions Europe and Techerati.
Prior to Falmouth, Dr Haider is a Research Fellow at the Enterprise Computing Research Lab, University of East London (UEL). She was also involved in the EU H2020 EURECA project (https://www.dceureca.eu) of UEL as the Scientific Researcher and project manager.In addition, she held a visiting research scholar position at Clemson University, South Carolina, USA. She also worked as a Lecturer (HPL) at the University of East London.
