Dr Ufi Alpsahin Cullen
Dr Ufi Cullen is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Falmouth University Business School. She has been working as a Management Consultant with a particular focus on innovation management capability, cultural transformation and the ISO family of quality and environmental management systems accreditation. She has been lecturing and actively engaging with research since 2001. Prior to her academic career, she worked for Bosch as a Process Design Engineer and for Nike as a Quality Assurance Manager. Ufi completed her PhD in Entrepreneurship and Business Management jointly at University of Liverpool and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (Turkey). She further holds an MBA in Marketing, Business and Management in addition to a BSc in Industrial Engineering. Ufi is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her research interests lie in the areas of female entrepreneurship and cultural studies, ranging from theoretical analysis to more empirically-oriented projects. She has actively engaged with other areas of business studies, total quality management and assessment in higher education, collaborating actively with researchers in the areas of circular entrepreneurship and circular business models as part of this. Ufi has led various projects on a wide spectrum of subjects from enhancing female entrepreneurship in developing countries to student-tutor research partnerships. She has mentored business start-ups and has been acting as an assessor for a number of international entrepreneurship competitions. She is also a founder of various entrepreneurship platforms and groups at the global scale. Recently, Ufi served as a co-investigator on an EU-funded project (£1,000,000) to co-create eight new and novel methods for teaching and coaching innovation and entrepreneurship in the corporate context together with academic partners from the University of Southern Denmark, RWTH–University of Aachen, HHL Graduate School of Management (Leipzig), as well as with corporate partners at BMW, Nokia Systems, Lego, Lufthansa Systems, Aachen Munchener and Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust. She has worked towards creating the statement of impact for REF2021.
