Dr Salman Malik
Dr Salman Malik is an ex-scientist, an advisory board member and multi-award winning entrepreneur. He has been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Loughborough University London and an Associate Lecturer, teaching and building programmes to promote entrepreneurial skills amongst students in Higher Education. Following his PhD at University College London (UCL), he solely founded a biotech startup and successfully raised funding to work on the research and development of a process used to cost-effectively develop microparticles (i.e. drug delivery carriers). He was also awarded a prestigious Enterprise Fellowship from The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) which allowed him to transition as an academic scientist into an entrepreneur and CEO. He has run two businesses in two very different sectors (Pharma and Cosmetics/Consumer Goods), but has experience of taking ideas, raising capital and commercialising them quickly into revenue-generating businesses. He is passionate about enterprise, start-ups and supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs.
